Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-06

Pixcull is built so that your photos never leave your device. We have no user accounts, no servers that store your photos, and no way for anyone — including us — to see what's in your camera roll.

The short version

  • Your photos stay on your device. Always.
  • We don't ask you to sign in. There is no account.
  • We don't sell, share, or rent any data.
  • The only data we receive is anonymous app usage and crash diagnostics, which you can opt out of in iOS / Android settings.

What Pixcull does on your device

Pixcull reads your photo library through the operating system's standard photo permissions so you can review and delete photos. All sorting, duplicate detection, and previewing happens locally on your phone. No photo, thumbnail, or photo metadata is ever transmitted to us or to a third party.

Data we receive

The app sends a minimal amount of non-personal data to operate:

  • Subscription receipts. When you subscribe to Pixcull+, Apple or Google issues a purchase receipt. We pass that receipt to RevenueCat, our subscription provider, so we can verify your subscription status. This receipt does not contain your name, email, address, or any photo data — only an anonymous identifier and the product purchased.
  • Anonymous analytics. Aggregated counts of features used (e.g. "user opened Duplicates"), without any photo content or identifying information. We use this to fix bugs and improve the experience. You can disable this in your device's privacy settings.
  • Crash reports. If the app crashes, we receive a stack trace so we can fix the bug. Crash reports never include photo data.

Permissions we ask for

  • Photo library. Required for the app to function. You can grant full access or limit access to specific photos.
  • Notifications (optional). Used only for daily streak reminders if you choose to enable them.

Children

Pixcull is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

Because Pixcull does not collect personal data, there is generally no personal information for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you believe we hold data about you and would like to exercise a right under GDPR, CCPA, or another applicable law, contact us at info@pixcull.app.

Third-party services

  • Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing and app distribution.
  • RevenueCat — subscription receipt verification.
  • PostHog — anonymous, opt-out product analytics.
  • Sentry — crash diagnostics.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. Pixcull only forwards the minimum information described above.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Pixcull handles data, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced inside the app.
